专家这样说 The Alaskan Malamute, the largest of the Arctic breeds, is also one of the basal breeds which means its origin can be traced long before modern selective breeding
Malamutes have remained genetically distinct, without significant crossbreeding for thousands of years
This powerful dog has been bred for hauling heavy loads over great distances in very extreme of environments
Malamutes require a great deal of exercise, and benefits from high energy activities
阿拉斯加犬是最大的雪橇犬品种，也是最最原始的犬种之一，这意味着这个品种的起源可以追溯到比现代选育技术开始的更久远以前
几千年来阿拉斯加犬都没有明显的杂交痕迹

Alaskan Malamutes tend to have more sensitive digestive systems as a result of their primitive diet from thousands of years ago which can make choosing the right food a challenge
It is common for this breed to have sensitivity towards dairy products and grains as they were not exposed to these components in their ancestral habitat
几千年来阿拉斯加雪橇犬由于其原始的饮食结构，造成其往往有十分敏感的消化系统，因此为其选择正确的食物是一个巨大的挑战
这个品种的犬只对乳制品和谷物的敏感性十分普遍，这跟他们在祖先的栖息地没有这些物质有关
The nutritional aim for this breed is to feed a complete and balanced diet which is designed for large breed dogs
They should be fed a good meat base dog food that is high in good quality protein
Always choose a formula which has premium or high quality ingredients and select something which is “grain-free” and “dairy-free”
Dry kibble is preferred over canned food, and their diet can also be supplemented with quality fresh protein such as lamb, chicken, pork, deer, salmon and mackerel
The diet should be tailored to the dogs level of activity and eating habits; feeling a high energy food to a Malamute that does not get sufficient exercise will result in weight gain
